It’s actually stupid how I keep being surprised by (1) how much I loved Center’s books and (2) how hard they make me fucking sob. Charlie is such an amazing sadboi and he checked all those boxes for me. Wonderful themes of guilt and sacrifice and potential and what wasted potential can look like. The last quarter of the book tore my heart out and I loved every page. More morose guinea pigs.
