The Gravity of Us by Brittainy C. Cherry
5.0
i expected this to be good, but i didn't expect i would 5 star this. the thing about this whole series is that yes, they are melodramatic and heavy, but they're also too cheesy at times. the message feels like being forced into the readers. don't get me wrong, i love the series, but the first three books suffers from the aforementioned issues.
now with the final book, i feel like there is more subtlety into the writing. it isn't riddled with over-the-top, edgy passages just to be heartwrenching. the internal conflict of our hero and heroine, sparsed evenly with the actions and dialogue, are enough. i appreciate the beauty in the words they don't say and also the things they declare.
i also think this has the most realistic and rawest plot line among the four. no exploitative twists, no problematic handling (at least in my opinion) of extremely sensitive issues. it may be the last in line steam level wise, but the feels??? damn, lucy and graham are just perfect together!
PS: take this rating with a grain of salt. some parts of the book are rushed and a little underdeveloped (it's the shortest among the four) but i don't care
