My Calamity Jane by Brodi Ashton, Cynthia Hand, Jodi Meadows

3.0

“I don’t need a man, Mama. I have a gun.”

My Calamity Jane is a Western with all of your favorites; Annie Oakley, Calamity Jane, and just maybe a few werewolves thrown in for good measure? On the surface, it felt like it should be everything I loved--a whole lot of adventure, humor, and a little bit of romance.

And yet, it just fell a little bit flat. The humor felt a little flat, the pacing was slow, and Jane (probably one of the most interesting characters) didn't get all that much page time.

Honestly, the Lady Janies is very up and down for me. My Lady Jane hit all the right buttons, the other two didn't quite get it right. Maybe it's just a personal taste.
