Took me a bit to get into the story, but once I did I could hardly put it down!  Magic, mystery, curses, sacrifice, necromancy, and interpersonal family drama all make for a gripping tale of heroics and catastrophes. I am so glad this is the first in a series. I am already looking forward to the next volume!  Can hardly wait to see what happens to everyone next!
