Downeast: Five Maine Girls and the Unseen Story of Rural America by Gigi Georges

hopeful informative reflective slow-paced

3.5

“Downeast” is an eye-opening look at the lives of young women in an isolated ritual area with very little variation in shared roots and economic/educational opportunity.  However, the author sets aside preconceived notions and paints a picture of loyalty to and love for to the region.
