If you came here because of booktok like I did, skip this book.

This is the first book I’ve ever read where I understood a “slow plot” book. The overall premise of following a group of friends where one days is stated just a few pages in and then the rest of the book leads you to that moment and then the aftermath. One year told in 500+ pages…

The author’s use of embedding so much Greek classic literature is impressive, but went right over my head. This is a book that I believe is studied in school, not a typical leisurely read.
