Oh where do I begin with this book? I know I'm pretty late on the whole Song of Achilles bandwagon but I was pretty skeptical going into it. I read one of the other "sad girl books" popular around the time, "They Both Die at the End" and didn't like it at all. I should've known, I mean it has Greek mythology and thanks to Percy Jackson that is like one of my two personality traits. Everything about this book is beautiful, the writing, the atmosphere, the romance, the ending! Just gorgeous. The storytelling of the downfall of Achilles and his fatal flaw was just perfect. Originally I borrowed it from the library but once I finished it I went and got my own copy and I can't wait to re-read. Before I read this I got “Circe” so I can't wait to read that and I'm also borrowing the author's other work “Galatea”. Anyway highly, highly recommend (unless you don't like Greek mythology and war for whatever reason) but even then I would still try this.
