Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins

4.0

Page turner. I love to read a book that keeps me constantly hypothesizing about what might happen next, and Collins does this with Catching Fire. I couldn't have guessed how she was going to top The Hunger Games, and was surprised by how she did it. It was interesting to me that the characters seem to maintain such an innocence and purity around their intimate relationships when they are so hardened and wise in the world of violence. It is refreshing, but interesting to think about in terms of what our "civilization" might become in the future. I couldn't wait to go on to the third book and devoured that in a day!
