Poles Apart by Kirsty Moseley

3.0

This book had such great potential. Kirsty Moseley is one of my go to authors and has been since The Boy Who Sneaks in My Bedroom Window.

Poles Apart left me a bit underwhelmed.

Spoiler Alert.

I hated that Emma was allowed to work in a strip club at 16. Hated the unplanned pregnancy. Could not understand how Emma's parents, so disparaging of Emma would then allow her to become guardian of Rory. And how in the hell can a man come into the home you share with a baby under 2 on an unplanned visit not be confronted by baby evidence? No high chair in the kitchen? No pushchair in the hall? No sippy cups? No toys? No photos? It didn't make sense. Even the tidiest person in the world will have evidence, it was a tiny flat with no nursery room to hide it all in.

It missed a trick for me.

I feel callous with my rating, but it just wasn't that great. I would have gone 2.5 but rounded up.

Sorry Kirsty, I still lurve you.
