Wicked Pursuit is one of the short stories that is going to be a part of the Kickstarter for the Black Rose Auction. This is a Little Red Riding Hood retelling featuring the children of the Wicked Villains series by Katee Robert.
I want to thank Katee for giving her Patreon's this book early so we can read it/listen to the audiobook.
First off, I want to say that while this book does feature a child of the characters from Wicked Villains, I didn't find it to be confusing or like I was lost while reading this. I would say that if you are worried about spoilers for that original series, I would read those first. Other than that, I think this is pretty easy to read even without reading the other series.
This book is a darker romance as it does feature stalking. I would recommend looking up triggers for this story just to be safe. I really love Katee Robert's book and this was no different. I thought this was such an interesting take on the Red Riding Hood story. I really loved seeing the pressure that the children of the Wicked Villain series are under and seeing how the previous series influences their thought processes.
I listened to the audiobook of this and it's a dual narration book. I LOVED it as we get the female narrator doing the female voices and the male narrator doing the male voices. They both were perfect for this book and I loved them so much.
I don't want to say much about this plot as I do not want to spoil it but I will say that if you loved the Wicked Villains series or this interest you at all, please pick it up.
