Gave up halfway. boring, predictable story. I didn't like any of the characters and stopped reading when I realized I didn't care about the mystery of the violin at all.
Also the audiobook narrator's vocal fry at the end of every sentence was intolerable. It would be one thing if it distinguished one of the character's voices in the dialogue (such as the 2011 young adult character) but as the basic text reading voice it was so tiring to listen to. I know it's not the author's fault, but it dimmed my enjoyment of the book.
