The Blackwater Lightship by Colm Tóibín

4.0

I found this book very engaging. It was emotional to read, despite its distance from my own experience. Although a sad story there is an uplift in the mother-daughter reconciliation, the acceptance of pain and death. Key to the book is p.259: "It was clear to her now... that it did not matter whether there were people or not. The world would go on."
