Very powerful, honest, heartbreaking, revealing. Made me scared for the future. Such a real portrayal of the paradox of early motherhood where you both love and resent your baby more than anything before. Losing yourself, your autonomy, privacy, simple moments of solitude, freedom. The effect on your romantic relationship, where you can’t just leave the dishes on the counter and go cuddle on the couch for fun. Both wanting to get away from the baby and feeling like you’re dying when they’re not around. Thoughts of harming them. The resentment mothers feel for how little changes for the father. Not recognizing your own body. Your body being feeling like a factory to feed another person. So much vulnerability, beautiful book.
