What a Wallflower Wants, by Maya Rodale

adventurous challenging dark emotional inspiring reflective sad tense
  • Plot- or character-driven? A mix
  • Strong character development? Yes
  • Loveable characters? Yes
  • Diverse cast of characters? No
  • Flaws of characters a main focus? Yes
It's a beautiful book on its own, but it's also very much out of theme. It's not something that should be placed in a romance series called "Bad boys and Wallflowers" previously known to be mainly steamy and lighthearted entertainment.

This book revolves around rape, the trauma of it and the healing. As said, it can be considered a wholesome healing story on it's own - but I wasn't happy to have rape sprung on me like this. That is also why I won't put it into spoiler tags. It's irresponsible of the author and the publisher to release this book without proper content warnings.
