This book in set almost entirely in a maternity/fever ward over the period of a couple of days during the 1918 flu pandemic. At first I wasn’t sure I wanted to read about a pandemic while living in the midst of a pandemic, but it didn’t prove to be too anxiety-inducing. It was interesting to see some similarities, all these years later. I’d recommend this one - great characters, and I really became invested in the well-being of the caregivers and their patients.
