One of Murakami's ventures into something less fantastical. A story about acceptance, I find that Midori is just a little too "manic pixie dream girl" who likes the banal main character for no real discernable reason.

Also, the part where the main character has sex with the middle aged guitarist felt contrived.


Nevertheless, still an enjoyable read with compelling emotional moments.
