Along Came a Spider by James Patterson

1.0

Why does this book have so many stars on Goodread? Or anywhere for that matter. The dialogue between the characters was forced and terrible. Did Patterson have an African American consultant for this book? Because I have a feeling he didn’t. It felt like he put his own thoughts and feelings into what he imagined life would be like for the main character, and not actually what the world is actually like for an African American cop in DC. The relationship between the main characters was also terrible and felt forced. Again with the female characters, it felt like he used his own opinions of women rather than getting someone that is actually female to write the love interest.
I could go on, but frankly, I don’t have the desire to dissect this terrible terrible book.
