My thoughts on this book are rather confusing. On one hand.... I really enjoyed the premise of it. But on the other.... I absolutely hated the climax/ending. So I'm hovering around a 2.5 Star rating.
Rachel Halloway A.K.A Molly Forester has done her best to create a safe and happy life for herself. She has fought her way to find a new house, great job, good friend, and even made a family. However, 'Rachel' has a childhood secret that she has been running from since she was a pre-teen... her entire family was murdered and she is the soul survivor. The town thinks that the murderer was found and charged.... but Molly knows that the real killer is still out there and still wants her dead. When the newspaper that she works for is in danger of shutting down... her boss comes up with the idea to start a true crime podcast called "Finding little Molly Forester". Molly is terrified that her true identity will be uncovered and her and her family's lives will be in serious danger. Will the podcast uncover the truth? Will the murderer finally be able to finish the job he started so many years ago?
Now obviously the summary seems very intriguing! However, this is the type of 'thriller' that has little to no actual thrill to it. You know from the first chapter who Rachel really is, what happened, and the general premise of who the murderer is. Not to mention... the end is just plain silly. How can all of this stuff happen throughout the book and then just end so quickly? Personally, I wish that the author would have involved the actual killer a little more. At least it would have added a little suspense
Overall... I enjoyed my experience reading this book. However, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone that is really into thrillers.
