“And I knew he’d never love me the way I loved him. Like I was the oxygen he needed to breathe. But at least he loved me like this. Like losing me would be living with half a lung.”
3.5 stars - she changed the way she revealed the back story compared to the previous books in a way I didn’t enjoy as much. Reading 200 straight pages of backstory before I got to adult Mei and the event post Dead Man Walking… it wasn’t for me at all.
