Nemesis Games by James S.A. Corey

With the Rocinante docked at Tycho Station for substantial repairs, Amos, Naomi, and Alex are called away to take care of personal business. Meanwhile, Holden follows a tip from Monica Stuart and begins investigating why some colony ships are disappearing on the other side of the Ring. Alex goes back to Mars to say hello (or goodbye) to his ex-wife. Naomi's past with Marco Inaros is brought to light, and she is pulled into his web. Unfortunately, Naomi's son, Filip, has been radicalized by Marcos. I loved that we finally got Naomi, Alex, and Amos POV chapters. I was so angry with some of Naomi's choices, that I had to put the book down. I am so glad that I read [b:The Churn|20981355|The Churn (The Expanse, #3.5)|James S.A. I was a little bit disappointed because I had seen spoilers talking about the asteroid attack on Earth, so that part of the story didn't shock me as much as it should have. The Ring has begun destroying ships, and I cannot wait to see what sort of trouble Holden and his crew get into in the next book.

Content: mentions of depression and suicide.
