So much potential that got nowhere.

The first 20% of this book is amazing then it goes rapidly downhill from there. It starts off with Mack going to the police to try to find her missing best friend. After realising the police won't be any help to her, she decides to go undercover to get into the Irish mafia since her best friend was working there before she dissapeared and Mack obviously thinks they had something to do with her going missing. Mack is badass and strong for like maybe a chapter. Then she falls in love with one of the high ups, Lachlan. It's fine that she falls for this guy since this is a mafia romance, I get it, this is a romance book. But after falling for this guy she loses all of her brain cells and making stupid plans that gets her in trouble.
Spoilerwhat was the point of her following Lachlan to his meeting... she didn't learn anything there AND she got in trouble because she had to serve drinks IN FRONT of Lachlan.

Then it turns into an over the top mafia book where everyone is acting stupid but again, I get it, this is a mafia romance it is supposed to be over the top and non sensical. But I just couldn't stop rolling my eyes towards the end of the book. I don't understand why they just didn't kill Mack and put a stop to all of this.
Anyways, I still had fun reading this and it was a fast paced book. I am actually very curious about Alexie's story so I guess I am going to have to read the next two books.
