Carter is a famous and wealthy hockey player, and puck bunnies line up outside his hotel room door. He doesn't do relationships. Olivia is a high school teacher and wants nothing to do with him. Game on.
This is a hockey romance, book 1 in the Playing for Keeps series, told in dual POV, first person. It was cute. I would've liked to see more depth to the characters (there is more to Olivia than just being short). I also would've liked for Carter's personality to be more than a "reformed manwhore" and for his obsession about Olivia to be more justified than her appearance and the fact that she's the first woman ever to tell him no. But I did like them together (although it was a bit cheesy at times) and their communication skills were on point. I did find the book was a bit longer than necessary. And don't get me started on the third act breakup. But I loved the side characters and their relationships with the MCs.
