This did not have OOMPH I was expecting. I wanted feminine power, I wanted to rage, I wanted to burn.
Instead I found my mind wandering, losing my train of thought, having to reread pages because some parts were particularly boring and I lost focus.

It took me almost until the end of the book to realize that this book is not about feminine rage and power so much as it's about the danger to society and our own mental health when we are shamed into silence, and our trauma is pushed down rather than taken out into the open, examined, talked about, and felt.

Now that I've realized this, the book wasn't so bad. This book is meant to be thought-provoking and stimulate discussion.

That said, as much as I enjoy deeply thought-provoking books that spark discussion...
I dove into this one ready to be lit on fire.
