Wonder Woman: Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo

4.0

This was excellent! Not quite as good as the rest of this author's other books, but still a fun and enjoyable read! I did feel like there was a giant cop out with Nim and Theo's deaths, even though I'm glad they survived because with Diana going home where would Alia be with her traitor brother? I think if I hadn't listened to Crooked Kingdom 24 hours prior, having to deal with Matthias' death, I would have a different thought about the cop out - but even then I loved how it was done even while knowing it was a cop out. I loved how Diana was portrayed, clueless to the new world, and every time we got Alia's POV with her describing Diana, my immediate thoughts were "gay." I wish this was a duology, because there is more that I would love to see dove into - with Alia's family and her parents. For a standalone, I feel it was quite well done, at the very least I don't know who could do better. This is the first and likely only Leigh Bardugo book I'll be rating under 5 stars.
