Black Magic Women by Moushumi Kandali

5.0

A compendium 10 short poignant stories written by #moushumikandali translated from the Assamese by #parbinarashid , searing stories written in a poetic prose, extremely haunting and anguishing. One feels the pain the lyrical language expresses. Even kindles the rage to be aware of the ghastly atrocities committed to the people in the 7 sister states of India: Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Assam, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura Mizoram and Sikkim; collectively known as Northeast India. They are connected to rest of India via the Chicken’s neck (Siliguri corridor). Amalgamation of cultures, languages, lush terrains, rich in nature, tribal diversity and born from Bharat Mata yet they are alienated from the rest of the country.
