What a mess. And what an annoying main character. If she isn't fumbling around blind, either literally or figuratively by stumbling into disasters, then she is suddenly the most powerful witch who ever witched. Yet she is also terrible at Magic. Yet she is also amazing. But vulnerable and needing to be rescued. But still amazing. Sheesh.
Redeeming qualities about the book: interesting magical power that hasn't been over-used yet. A reasonably clever plot twist.
Additional points of annoyance:
- PC. Seriously. Also what's with the cast on the dog? What kind of a completely irrelevant detail is that?
- Beating fae lore to death through repetition. Yes we get it, don't say thank you. Stop telling me!
- Love triangle with death and and a faerie. Just.....no.
- Phrases like "whore red lipstick." Seriously?!?
And more. So much more.
