Invisible by Paul Auster

3.0

Invisible is possibly one of the darkest Auster novels. Told via a series of narrators, none of whom seem to be particularly reliable, it's either an erotic and dangerous coming of age tale or the imagination of lonely young college boy. Adam Walker meets a charismatic young professor who makes him an offer he can't refuse, but things disintegrate rather rapidly as a result. Once more it was heading for a strong 4, but the final chapter felt weak. It's not like I was expecting a grand reveal, but the slow crumble was a bit of a let down.
