Valente is one of my favorite authors of all time. Her writing in Space Opera is rhythmic with a heavy bass line throughout. I agree that the story and writing style are similar to Douglas Adams Hitch Hikers Guide to The Galaxy. But I would have to say that Valente added her own distinct flavor to the writing. This book will not be for everyone but it was for me. My one and only critique is the pacing was a bit off I wanted it to be a bit faster in the middle. Overall another great one from the great Valente.
