I first read this book in school probably about 2006 and it was the first time I saw Wales and Welsh things in a story book. I think the welshness is what immediately caught me but the magic is what kept me. This is a genuinely beautiful story that teaches kids about loss and moving on and it's all under the vale of magic.
I use to read this and the sequels at least once a year but at some point in high school maybe 2012/13 I stopped. I think I should start doing it again, to keep it alive in my mind.
Also can more stories use old Welsh as the magic language because it's cool as and I love it. Both in this and Howl's Moving Castle, and any more that I do not know about.
