The Good Girls by Claire Eliza Bartlett was so good! I couldn’t put it down. I couldn’t put this book down from the minute I picked it up. I loved the characters and the way they interacted with one another. I also loved the way the format changed during the book from prose to texts to police interviews and even blog posts. It kept the story moving and directed your attention in a bunch of different ways that kept you guessing at what was going to be revealed when. While obviously this book deals with very heavy topics surrounding sexual assault and adults preying on minors, I thought these topics were handled well, especially with the final conclusion of the novel. These are topics that make us, as fellow women, so angry, and watching the anger of these girls play out over the pages was so refreshing and diabolical. I LOVED IT. This is easily one of the best books I’ve read this year, especially in the realm of YA mystery and suspense novels. Run, don’t walk to add this to your TBR (but check the trigger warnings first!).
