I was kind of disappointed by this book. I remember reading these books as a kid and being haunted by them! I was hoping that the stories would be a bit spookier for me as an adult, but I was honestly unfazed. The illustrations are WAY scarier than the stories. I also like the folk background that the author included in the book. But I wish this book stood the test of time for me; it is decidedly middle grade only.
Moderate: Body horror, Death, Gore, and Blood
Minor: Animal death, Stalking, Gaslighting, and Injury/Injury detail
