2023:
I’ve decided to keep it at 5 stars just because this book is genuinely so entertaining and I still love the dynamic between Elizabeth, Nathaniel and Silas.

2022:
Is this book perfect? No. Will this book change your life? Probably not. Is it incredibly entertaining and immersive? Absolutely!!
When I finished this book I immediately wanted to pick up the novella (unfortunately not out yet😭).
Elizabeth, Nathaniel and Silas’ friendship dynamic is beautiful and so funny. I just wanted to keep reading about them.  I’m so glad I was able to annotate as I read it for the first time.
Also bi representation!!! Nathaniel really shouted that with his whole chest and I love that for him.
And look, you will see the plot twists coming from a mile away but that doesn’t mean you won’t have a good time getting there. I honestly didn’t mind that I knew what was going to happen plot wise because I was having so much fun with the characters and the world.
The writing is immersive, I had absolutely no trouble imagining what was going on.
I think if you go into this novel with the right expectations I think you will have a great time. This book is not the most deep or mind changing thing you will read but it is incredibly entertaining when you read it for what it is.
