Evening Primrose by Kopano Matlwa

This is a story about a South African, Christian woman named Masechaba. She is eager to become a doctor but once she's actually in the South African medical industry, she has to face it's dark reality. The hospital she works at is understaffed, she is overworked, and has to face xenophobia and racism frequently. After a traumatic even, Masechaba falls into depression and an episode of psychosis. This event forces he to evaluate her life, mental health, and religion. This book is face paced and short but difficult to read.
