Men of Tattoos by Yuiji Aniya

I bought this after reading several glowing reviews, and I'm glad I did. Now, generally I prefer my manga to be fluffy and happiness-inducing, but I am willing to make an exception when it's as well done as this collection of stories. Be warned: they pack quite a punch, but really, it's so well done. When I read something like this (or some of Yoshinaga Fumi's short stories, which aren't necessarily similar to this collection, but which also have these twists that leave you both shocked and amazed and impressed) I'm reminded that it doesn't always take hearts and flowers to make a good story. (I still prefer them, mind you. But in the end, this was really good, so if you're in the mood for something tragic and dark, read this!)
