A psychological masterpiece. It follows the torrance family and shows glimpses in the chaos that can live inside your mind. It forces you to question and analyze what truly is going on in reality and what is just a picture of the mind. The Shining was filled with action packed scenes and I never wanted to put it down. There were very few moments in which I was bored or uninterested in seeing what came next. This is between a 4 and 4.5 for me but it is leaning closer to a 4.5 because of how hard it always was to put it down. Also, the epilogue was very touching and allowed for a view of peace after the insanity of the Overlook was demolished. It was very heartwarming to see what was going on and their progress in life.
