I could not read this fast enough. This was a great second installment in this series. I was so excited to see another one came out. I think about some none shall sleep at least once a month. In this story we find Emma and Travis trying to move on with their lives. Travis in the service and Emma at college. Emma is sucked back into the FBI when a copycat to her kidnapper is found. She is determined to help the girls and find the redemption for not saving the others she was with when she escaped. She is determined to outrun her past. Travis wants to protect Emma despite the fact her most terrifying memories are what draws her back in. While she navigates working in the FBI and her own demons, Travis is trying to read an protect her. They have to work with Simon and Kristen again. I liked Kristen in this story. Simon seemed unnecessary in this story. But he had the same predictable role of the bad guy who shows up at the best time when the cops can’t get to her fast enough. This author spares no gore. I still shudder when I think of the rebar and poor Travis. That was not fun or when Simon slit the security guards neck. I was 100% down for the soft spot Emma and Travis have for eachother.
