Jock Road by Sara Ney

5.0

I think we all have our weird book preferences and I must confess, mine is virgin guys. And guess what, Jackson is A VIRGIN! Jock Road is the latest sports romance by Sara Ney, THE Queen of sports romance, and it follows Triple J whose life is centred around football. Guys, if you like the virgin guy trope, this book is for you. I absolutely adore when the guy is not that experimented, it is so different from what we can usually read.

What makes this book that good is that the characters' personalities are so different from what we usually get to see from sports romance novels. Jackson is very introvert, he only thinks football and doesn't really have a life besides that. He has no idea how to act around a girl and doesn't even know if he can have a girlfriend and still achieve his goals. Charlie is just like the little girls who get super mad but it just make them cuter! She is not the typical jock chaser and that's maybe why Jackson will like her enough to forget about football for a second.

Their love story is very smooth, I love how ignorant Jackson is about love and sex. It doesn't make him any less hot and absolute book boyfriend material! He actually has feelings and show them. He does cute things without even knowing it and he is just the absolute best. Charlie is not a sex goddess, but she is absolutely the most experienced one. She is just so understanding with Jackson, never making fun of him and encouraging him to start living a little. All of Jackson's roommates are hilarious and make Jackson look even more like a little unique and precious thing (but with very very big muscles). The setting of the book is super cute as it is set in autumn and you get all the cozy feels.

So if you are sick of all the female protagonists in romance being innocent virgins, read this book because the reversal of the situation is just so entertaining and Jackson might be one of the best Sara Ney character!
