The Red Tent by Anita Diamant
5.0
I’ve listened to this book at least 8 times. It is, by far, my favorite book. Dinah’s life, though tragic, lives along my own and reminds me of the strength of women, from the biblical times until present day. She bore unbelievable pain and grief, yet she still continued her life and found love in those around her. Though one life in Canaan ended, a new life in Egypt began. Though her name may have changed, her memory lingered on. Though Dinah was but a sentence in the Bible, though this was but a fictional story, Dinah will forever live on in my memory and those who choose to take the time to sit alongside the River with her, to listen to her story, to share in her pain and her happiness, and to remember that the mystery and strength of women will never end so long as we continue to pass it on to our daughters. A breathtaking story that I simply adore and cannot recommend enough.
