His Name Is George Floyd: One Man's Life and the Struggle for Racial Justice by Toluse Olorunnipa, Robert Samuels

challenging dark emotional hopeful informative reflective sad tense slow-paced

5.0

Incredibly well researched and thoroughly detailed, this book is an absolutely must read for understanding the world in which George Floyd lived and died and, perhaps most importantly, who he was as a person and the legacy he leaves behind and the work still left to do towards racial justice. It's long and heavy, but it was never boring or dry or too much (although beware going into the scenes of his death, those are definitely very, very intense and probably very triggering for many people).
