After Dark by Haruki Murakami

5.0

Set during the course of a long night in Tokyo, Murakami weaves together several narratives with his usual unique voice and a healthy dose of surrealism. His characters have secrets, not all of which are revealed throughout the book; this kept me interested, but might let some readers down. I loved the pace; slow and quiet at times, interspersed with plenty of dialogue as to not get dull. This is a great novel to pick up if you yourself are up in the middle of the night, unable to get any rest.
