3.0

More of a 3.5 than a 3, but as we all know, Goodreads will update everything but the rating system. This had a lot more action than I remembered it to, and moved a bit faster than the first installment. to the events of this book. He grows throughout, and while he definitely has some plot armor through the 'you were simply born with incredible power! with little training you can do it all!' trope, we do see that he struggles to control his powers, both before and during the events of this book, before he finally gets a really win. I do remember liking Linda and Hastings a lot more as a child; but rereading these now about 14 years later, they're quite unlikable. It was a throw in sentence towards the end, but I'd also forgotten that
