My expectations were really high as everyone raved about this book, but it took me around 200 pages to really fall in love it; I did.

Daisy was an imperfect character that because of neglect fell into drug abuse and alcoholism, and craved attention. The book very much highlighted the habits of people in the 70’s, especially when they surrounded themselves in the rock’n’roll scene. Billy and Daisy were two characters that were like each other in a lot of ways, but whether or not it was healthy is a whole other story. Karen had a point when she said soulmates shouldn’t be two of the same.

Overall, TJR’s writing (as always) was refreshing with how effortless and meaningful it is. Warren also deserves a shout out for being my favourite drummer ever :))
