rating this a 3.75 because i enjoyed the book and read it fairly quick. it was really cute in parts. i’m usually not a fan of the “insta-love” trope which this book definitely fell on the line with but i enjoyed it so much more than mr. masters because of the relationship.

i don’t know if this is a T L Swan thing because i’ve just started reading her books, but i feel like the main issues of the characters and the resolution part is always sped up. i’ve said the same about mr. masters and was disappointed it was similar.

Spoiler like i understand that spencer and charlotte love each other but how did one conversation that mainly consisted of a lack of communication resolve the issue of the letter? like to me it felt very rushed and like a how tf did this happen. also, after charlotte comes to greece and they fight about the letter and she wakes up next to him to then jerk him off when he’s mad at her and asleep?!? i really didn’t like that part because i felt like that was overstepping a boundary. i know they very clearly express their feelings in sex, but damn this man is mad as fuck at her and you decide that’s your best thing to do? i don’t know that rubbed me the wrong way - no pun intended.

also, the arguments about charlottes family and things, i feel like it was a constant his/her way or the highway. i said this about mr. masters too that i feel like compromise is never actually achieved. it’s just sucking it up for the other to be happy and not addressing the fact that they’re doing that. it’s like they all of a sudden have a change of heart as a complete 180. it just doesn’t make sense to me and maybe i’m not reading as in detailed as i should but that’s definitely the vibe i got.

besides that, i liked the book. definitely not a four stars for me because of those issues but still a book i don’t regret reading. there were very cute moments!
