The Outsider is the first Stephen King novel I have read. It was a light read despite the long page count thanks to the fast-pace, easy-to-read language, mysterious and intriguing nature of the book. However, I almost wish that it hadn't taken a supernatural turn. I know King is mostly known for his supernatural fiction. Still, the fantastical elements came so later in the book that I was expecting a real-life explanation to the events. I would have preferred it more if the author established the supernatural nature earlier.
