this was a wild one. very thoughtful – the endless struggle to appear the way we want to be, which tends to coincide with the way that people will love us, will accept us. how being treated as subhuman affects the way we think about others and what they owe us, what they should give to us. how this manifests differently in different people, in different experiences that shape us. at times very frustrating, at others illuminating. also confusing, in that way where its ambiguity allows you to make assumptions about what is going on (i liked my version better, but maybe it was just more comfortable.)
