I really wanted to like this book and I thought it started pretty strong, but by the end it just wasn’t for me. I did really like the main characters banter with each other and thought it was both creative/witty and funny most of the time.
Around the 50% mark is where things started to go south for me. From the point they get together to almost 75%, pretty much nothing by sx happens. Not to mention all the “sir” being used, just not my cup of tea. There’s no real plot advancement and the more I read the more it really felt like Sloane was just experiencing Stockholm syndrome.
Around 80% is where things went off the rails and became just so unbelievable. I realized I didn’t really care what happened to any of the characters and didn’t feel any true connection between mmc/fmc.
Finally the “epilogue” doesn’t even include the two main characters. It’s basically just a teaser for the next book which I really don’t care about, at least give some future blurb about the main characters.
