George's Marvellous Medicine by Roald Dahl

4.0

While Mrs Kranky was going shopping and Mr Kranky was working on the farm, George remembered to give his grandma her medicine at 11. His grandma was mean, rude and nasty to George until he had a brilliant idea - Grandma’s medicine. He decided he was going to improve it. What will happen when George gives Grandma her “medicine”?

I don't think I've ever read [b:George's Marvellous Medicine|31563426|George's Marvellous Medicine|Roald Dahl|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1471695628l/31563426._SY75_.jpg|1784447] before, and I'm not entirely sure why. I found the book funny at times, especially when George runs around the house making his marvellous medicine and throws all kinds of concoctions together. I think Grandma took it surprisingly well. I can't say I'd be so enthused by it all.

Poor George was forced to remember the ingredients of his medicine by his father, though, which was quite amusing, especially the outcomes of every attempt. Just a few new ingredients and the outcome changed. The poor farm animals, though, suffered greatly from science, especially the latter animals with medicines two, three, and four.

Grandma had her just desserts. She was a grouchy, moody, miserable, nasty old woman, and had she treated her family better, she wouldn't have suffered the outcome that she did.
