The Isle of the Lost by Robert Venditti, Melissa de la Cruz
1.0
I was very excited about this book when I first heard about it. I didn't know that there was going to be a movie too until after I was excited about the book. Then I wondered if the movie was based on the book or vice versa. I saw a bit of the movie but the acting was so bad and the songs so horrible I had to stop. But I was still looking forward to reading the book. I love Disney. I love villains. I'm not at all ashamed to read books geared toward a younger(much younger) audience.
That being said....this book was horrible. I read Melissa De La Cruz's Witches of Eastend series and loved it. But this....hmmm. The names of the kids were so very uncreative. Good flourishes while Evil gets the crap end of everything but makes do. A great many Disney favorites are mentioned but there's never really any substance to the characters. The writing was sloppy too. Perhaps if I was 25 years younger I would have enjoyed it more? I don't know. I just know I was so disappointed with this book. It made my skin crawl. I had to skip a chapter here and there just to get through the book.
