The Kingless Crown by Sarah M. Cradit

dark medium-paced

3.0

Only time will tell if this long, overwhelmingly white, heterosexual and arguably also ableist series is good enough to justify making me read about a rapist with a breastfeeding kink or if it at the end of it all the only way I will have benefitted from reading it is that, having read a long grimdark mediocre fantasy series, my standards will be reset and anything else I read in the next little while will seem especially good in comparison. What I will say for it though is that the women are numerous and delightfully complex, and Cradit's ability to juggle 15+ different characters/groups of characters in different locations and still maintain a decent level of comprehensibilty is impressive enough that it could go either way.
