How to Cook a Wolf by M.F.K. Fisher

Did not finish book. Stopped at 19%.
There were recipes in here that sounded incredibly bland. I understand that this was food made during/around WWII with rationing so okay fine. However, there were recipes for "Chinese soup" and "Chinese rice" or referenced something called the "Chinese urgency" so I felt like there was no depth or nuance to what she was writing about. I feel like the book could be interesting for someone looking at cooking history and what not to do but a lot of it just made me want to not eat anything.
